UNIJOS WINS DEBATE COMPETITION AT PANS CONVENTION (SYNERGY ’17).

The debate featured all pharmacy schools present at the convention except for UYO whose speakers were unavoidably absent.The programme began at 10:28am with two judges,one from faculty of law and the other from the department of pharmaceutical microbiology and biotechnology.

20 speakers debated with the equal division of chief and supporting speakers.
As for the modalities,the chief and supporting speakers were respectively allowed to speak for 3minutes and 2 minutes. The debaters were accessed on for criteria: CONTENT, TIME MANAGEMENT, DICTION AND DRESSING.
AFTER THE FIRST ROUND,the results were announced as follows:

In group 1,there was a tie between UNILORIN AND UNIBEN leading to the positioning of another topic to annihilate it: *Unemployment in Nigeria,a relief towards the eradication of poverty*
Honestly,unilorin opposed the motion and eventually qualified for the second round which consisted of 4 pharmacy school (UNILORIN,NAU,OOU&UNIJOS).The topic, *POPULATION INCREASE IN NIGERIA L,A NEED FOR THE REVIEW OF POPULATION POLICY* was debated and the results were posited statistically as follows:
UNIZIK. 64.5%
OOU. 66.5%
UNILORIN 71%
UNIJOS. 71.5%.

Much kudos to the Finalists, it was really a clash of titan, But University of Jos oratory prowess was unmarched.
